The “Positiva Mix” can’t possibly be podsafe. It contains an awful lot of copyrighted mainstream content.

Besides, I thought that the podsafe movement was all about not spinning these mainstream tunes. The podcast movement disappoints me.

    Pieter,

Apparently, this version of those tracks are cleared by Positiva.

The whole podsafe movement is about not forcing DJs, podcasters, etc. to pay fees when all we want to do is share great music with people. The non-mainstream artists were the first to recognize the power of new media for reaching people. The mainstream is definitely catching on.

Just as DRM is doomed to go the way of the Dodo bird, licensing fees to play music is dying as well. We were not interested in shutting out anyone (mainstream or otherwise) and as a result, “we” are becoming mainstream.

It just makes sense to invite everyone along for the ride.
